A properly installed epoxy floor lasts 8 to 15 years depending on the system type and usage conditions. Industrial heavy-duty epoxy in high-traffic factories lasts 8-12 years. Standard warehouse epoxy lasts 8-12 years. Self levelling commercial epoxy lasts 10-15 years in offices and showrooms. PU flooring in pharma and food facilities lasts 10-15 years. Epoxy flooring is very easy to maintain. For daily cleaning, sweep or vacuum to remove dust and debris, then mop with warm water and a neutral pH detergent. Chemical spills should be wiped up promptly. Annual deep cleaning with a floor polisher maintains the gloss and extends the floor’s lifespan significantly.
Industrial and warehouse epoxy is highly scratch-resistant under normal operational conditions. Heavy dragging of sharp metal objects can scratch the surface, as can dropping very heavy or sharp items. For commercial and decorative self levelling floors, avoid dragging furniture without felt pads. The finish coat on quality epoxy systems provides good scratch resistance — light scuffs can usually be buffed out during maintenance cleaning.
